This free, self-paced online training module is available for health and community professionals working with Queensland’s First Nations communities. This training will improve your understanding of gambling harm and how it affects First Nations individuals and communities, including how to screen and appropriately refer clients and patients.
First Nations Peoples experience disproportionate harm from gambling. In the 2023 Queensland Gambling Survey, a greater proportion of First Nations respondents indicated they wanted help to address the negative effects of gambling, but fewer had sought help compared to non-First Nations respondents. This data highlights the critical need for all areas of the First Nations health and community sector to be able to identify and respond to gambling harm.
The training is free and should take 1 hour to finish. Please note this is not an accredited course. You will receive a certificate of completion. You can save your progress at any time and return to it later.
